Yakuza stigma makes getting neat tattoos in Japan difficult. Boo.
Really, Katsuya seems beyond pleased that Verity shows so much interest in everything. He doesn't quite understand why some of the billboards and brands are funny to her until she explains them (and then he just seems embarrassed). He's happy to explain and translate anything she wants to know.
It isn't until Verity is looking out over Sumaru at his side that it sinks in to him at all how strange this is. Having a friend over in his world again. Interacting with people other than his coworkers at all. Being Just Katsuya, instead of Officer Suou. There's an idle whisper on the wind, one that makes Katsuya sigh.
This was where everything began. So long ago now. It was in this district even. At his brother's school over at Seven Sisters. The warrant out for JOKER, and the rumor he'd been spotted at the school. Running into her...into Maya...and Ms. Serizawa. Awakening Helios. Everything. It all led back to this spot all those years ago. For the smallest moment, as Verity turns around, the sunlight catches her hair and Katsuya sees someone else. A playful smile, her eye catching outfits...It makes him smile. Really smile.
And then he snaps out of it. How unbelievably rude of him. Here he was with a guest and he was daydreaming about the past. Katsuya reaches to adjust his tie and finds it missing. He's dressed down to only his red button up and slacks for this outing.
"Yes. We came in over in Konan, by the beach. Very good." Katsuya does his best to recover quickly. "There's an airspace museum back that way, you should be able to see the..the uh.." We'll be fine Big Suou! I spread a rumor that it FLIES. Woooo piloting a blimp! He laughs and shakes his head. "The model blimp." He points out toward where they'd come from.
